How to use Photoshop Custom Shapes

In this article I am going to guide you through the steps on using custom shapes in photoshop. It is similar to my previous article on How To Use Photoshop Custom Brushes.

Now lets get started.

1. Download a custom shape. For this example you can download this shape.

2. Unzip and save the custom shape into your Adobe folder. Usually its at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Custom Shapes

3. Open up Photoshop

4. Click and hold on the shape tool

5. Select the custom shape option

6. Click on the small arrow to open the custom shape picker

7. Click on the arrow found in the custom shape picker

8. Choose the custom shape that you have just saved into the adobe folder. Everytime you add a new custom shape, the list found here will increase. Please note that the list of shapes will only update if you add the brushes into the folder BEFORE opening up Adobe Photoshop.

Now you can use the custom shapes in your designs! There are alot of custom shapes found in the internet. Just search and have fun!
