30 Days of Change
Recently I just completed a 30 days trial. 30 days trial? What's that? Well it's a way to develop a habit by doing something for 30 days consecutively. The logic is when we decide to start something, lets say quit smoking, we tend to start off full of enthusiasm but lose our motivation fast. We tend to slack and go back to our bad ways or drop the new activity or habit.
By giving ourselves a shorter period of time, for this case 30 days, we have a higher chance of going through it all the way. And by the end of 30 days if you don't wish to continue then so be it. But most of the time it becomes a habit.
This is useful if you're trying to break a bad habit like smoking or drinking alcoholic drinks. Just set your goal for 30 days of no smoking or drinking or what ever habit you wish to break. It will be easier than just deciding to suddenly quit.
The 30 days trial can also help you pick up a good habit such as including vegetables in your meals or exercising.
It can also make your life/love life more interesting. Going to a new place each day for the next 30 days. Doing 30 new activities you have never done before.
The possibilities are endless. As for me I decided to just drink plain water for 30 days straight. No coke, ice lemon tea etc. It was abit of a challenge because sometimes when I'm out with my girlfriend and eat out, I see her drinking that nice, cold, sweet ice lemon tea. But then I tell myself its only for 30 days. After the 30 days I could feel the benefits.
- I don't feel so tired
- My complexion improved
- I don't dread drinking plain water anymore
- Overall I feel alot healthier
Now whenever I open up my fridge I automatically take out a bottle of plain water. You don't have to be so extreme. You could just make sure you have atleast 8 glasses of plain water everyday for 30 days.
Lets recap how you can implement the 30 days trial into your life.
- To break a bad habit (e.g. smoking, drinking)
- Inculcate a good habit (e.g. exercising, eating vegetables)
- Enhance your life with new activities
Like I mentioned earlier the possibilities are endless. I do hope you go and try this out. I would really like to know how you implemented the 30 days trial in your life. Just write a comment below or email me at an[at]farhanology.com.
Til next time. Au Revoir
